The SOSTAC model was originally devised by PR Smith in the early 1990’s. The SOSTAC model is used to strategically plan and design a digital marketing campaign. SOSTAC is a straightforward step by step plan to building a marketing campaign. The acronym stands for Situation, Objectives, Strategy, Tactics, Action, Control. 1) Situation Analysis: This is the first stage of the plan. It involves looking at where you currently are in terms of marketing. It will provide an overview to the company. A good place to start to determine the company’s position would be to first look towards the customers. This can be done through digital marketing communication such as online surveys, a Facebook campaign or Google Analytics.
